A Historic Route
Across the Lakes of Scott Village

The creation of this navigable circuit, starting from the historic Scott Village, dates back to the era of the Scott Fish and Game Club, a prestigious private hunting and fishing club active between 1895 and 1945. Today, the revitalized route connects eight majestic lakes of the Duchénier Wildlife Reserve over nearly 17 kilometers and includes five rustic camping sites, some of which originate from the club's early days.

A Circuit Accessible to All Paddlers

This calm-water route is generally considered easy, though a few portages may present a moderate level of difficulty.

Winding along densely forested shores, the circuit features clear signage indicating landing areas, camping sites, and portage sections throughout the journey.

Day Trip or Canoe-Camping Adventure

For experienced paddlers, the circuit can easily be completed in a single day. Whether you choose to paddle it in one go or take your time to enjoy each stage, the route adapts to your rhythm. Rustic campsites scattered along the way offer the opportunity to extend the adventure and spend the night in the heart of the wilderness.

Highlights of the route

Each paddle stroke reveals the natural and historical richness of the Scott sector. Discover the remains of the first Scott Village, a former American private club active between 1895 and 1945, whose artifacts are still visible near Lac Lâche and the Cheminées rustic campground. These traces evoke a time when elite anglers and hunters frequented the area, before the village was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in the early 1950s.

Along the way, you'll glide through ancient forests, encounter abundant wildlife, and enjoy scenic stops such as the Lac Lâche waterfall and the sandy beach of Lac Perche. A peaceful route where nature and history meet.
